1949- Hornby GWR 0-6-2T

The first post-war version of this locomotive was released in late 1947 in limited numbers, but these had the horseshoe magnet, however my locomotive is the variant with the Anlico half inch magnet which was released in the summer of 1949.
After the Second World War the clockwork variant was discontinued and only the electric variant was made. The voltage being 12 volt DC in the UK. The magnet design and the chassis being altered to accommodate it were the main changes, along with the cut out in the lower bufferbeam for the new couplings.
There were no major changes during the Korean War 1950-1953, although there were supply problems. The GWR livery was made until early 1953, The GWR mould was special to this locomotive with the valve configuration and was discontinued from June 1953 onwards. The Class 66XX was not produced in British Railways black.
Other variants 1947-1953 were LMS, LNER and SR.

Note that the valve configuration is different from the others in this series, the idea was to create a GWR Class 66XX at minimal extra cost.
