R114 Box Car 1954-1960

The Box Car was one of the first releases in the Transcontinental range based on North American railroads. Released in the Autumn 1954, it was produced in three colours, the main ones being yellow or orange. Brown ones being rare and very sought after.
The model was very wrong in the detail and was much too short and by 1960 was being replaced by a more realistic Box Car, the existing tooling was used to produce a track cleaning car, which was well liked on British model railways.
Although the model in the catalogue carried a different number, only "Triang Railways" T.R.22831 was ever carried.
R114 was produced in England, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
