R115 Caboose 1954-1965

The Caboose was the Transcontinental variant of the British Guards Van and as such, each goods train needed at least one, which meant that they were produced in large numbers.

The R115 was produced not just in the UK, but also in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Although it was removed from the UK catalogue after 1965, it continued to be produced for the Canadian market in various liveries into the early 1970s.

Those items that were not sold by the mid 1970s were sent back to the UK and returned to the shops in 1981 under the name Zodiac.

The 1954/55 red variant, during this time the markings were on transfers (later heat printed). However, they have been worn away or removed on my example.

1956- Colour more like maroon and the livery is heat printed.
