Triang R12 BP-SHELL TANKER WAGON        1954-1971

The Triang R12 Tanker Wagon was released in 1954. In the early years SHELL in red was seen on one side and BP in green on the other side. In the early 1960s SHELL and BP went their own ways and Triang responded by making two different wagons and later BP was dropped completely. This was the only wagon to be issued with a red painted sole bar, although towards the end of production the red paint was left off.

Left we see a 1954 version of the tanker wagon and the SHELL side.

This is the model in its final form, it is carrying the former BP number.

The last couple of years the model no longer had a red painted sole bar, this may have been a cost saving action.

From 1972 the model was no longer in the catalogue.
